Nick and Cassie Meet

It all began at a fraternity/sorority mixer with a Philly cheesesteak bar (romantic, right?).

Cassie had just moved to Denver two weeks earlier — transferring schools at the end of her junior year and not knowing a single soul in the city. She wasn’t planning to go out that night, but her new friend (and sorority president) wasn’t having it. She dressed Cassie up, gave her a pep talk, and sent her out the door. Thank goodness she did.

The party was Olympic-themed, and Nick showed up wearing only spandex and a Greek flag as a cape. Cassie probably should’ve known what she was getting into. Within minutes after meeting we were dancing — and we didn’t stop all night.

Cassie wasn’t 21 yet, so after the party, Nick left to meet friends at the bars... but then he turned right back around and called her. He came back almost immediately to hang out and show her around his fraternity house and ask her on a date (which honestly might be the only reason we’re here today).

We don’t have a picture from that night, but here’s one of Cassie and her friend Sam before they headed out — you miiight just spot her at the wedding!

We became official!

It was Valentine’s Day — Nick cooked dinner for Cassie, and Cassie surprised Nick with a bouquet of bacon roses and homemade chocolate cookies (yes, they were as amazing as it sounds).

At that point, we were officially obsessed with each other.

That night, Nick asked Cassie to be his girlfriend — and the rest is truly history.

The very next day, we took our first photo together when Cassie came to watch Nick play soccer for the first time.

(Spoiler: she was already his biggest fan.)

Cassie moves to Prague

When Cassie got into a study abroad program in Prague, she was so excited — but also nervous to tell Nick since our relationship was still pretty new.

Nick couldn’t have been more supportive. He surprised Cassie with flowers and a hand-drawn card featuring the Czech flag (still one of our favorite little memories).

We spent five very long months doing long distance, and when Nick finally visited, Cassie couldn’t wait to show him around . (This photo is from the night we reunited!) We placed a love lock on one of the city’s bridges, and Cassie tossed the key into the river, knowing we’d never want to take it off.

After Prague, we traveled through Italy — Nick’s turn to play tour guide — and we realized just how lucky we were to share a love for new cultures, spontaneous adventures, and getting lost together in new places.

Check out some of our favorite spots we’ve explored since!

Our first trip to Joshua Tree

For Nick’s early birthday, Cassie planned our very first trip to Joshua Tree — just a quick getaway to unplug and soak up some nature.

Little did we know, we were kicking off a tradition that would shape so many years to come.

We packed exactly one pot, some burgers, homemade chili, and a generous supply of Tecate. Thankfully, Cassie also remembered a tent and two camping chairs. We turned off our phones and had the kind of weekend you wish you could bottle up forever.

Cheers to the start of what would eventually become our annual Joshua Tree trip — and the beginning of so much more.

We move into our first apartment together!

A sweet old place in a small apartment building in Sherman Oaks. We loved most things about it - especially the lemon tree outside our window. We learned so many things about each other this year and Cassie began to beg for the next step…..a DOG!

Finneas Bean Saremi joins the fam!

Safe to say we were smitten from the get go. Finneas is now 4 years old and has gone on many adventures with us.

His favorite place is the desert where he turns into the best adventure dog version of himself.

Fun fact; his middle name Bean is in tribute to the late great Kobe Bean Bryant.

Nick Proposes!

After 10 years, a handful of jobs, a few investment properties, so many fun projects, countless trips, and cheering each other on through all of life’s curveballs — Nick finally popped the question! It all happened on a beautiful beachside cliff in Greece while we were celebrating Cassie’s 30th and Daria’s 60th. Nick knew it was Cassie’s dream trip, so he took things up a notch and secretly invited our best friends to surprise her and join us for the rest of the adventure.

It’s been a wild, wonderful ride full of love, laughter, and figuring things out as we go — and now, we’re so excited to make it official and start this next chapter together with all of you by our side!
